• The Compass Christian Church Student Internship Program is designed to better equip ministry leaders with the skills, knowledge, experience, and coaching needed for maximum kingdom impact. Through biblical training, practical ministry experience, leadership development and spiritual formation experiences, interns will better prepared to be leaders in the local church as well as using their gifts to build the kingdom.

• VISION AND MISSION
  • To work with the Compass Central Student Ministries Pastor to implement, oversee, and guard the mission of Compass Christian Church in support of its mission, core values, and objectives.
  • To give input and help execute oversight and direction of upcoming opportunities, programs, and events in assigned ministry experiences.
• PASTORAL
  • To read, understand, and apply Gods Word to ministry situations and programs.
  • Teach the Word of God with boldness and clarity, in a way people can understand and apply to their own lives.
  • Assist in leading, recruiting, and pastoring leaders and students
  • Be prepared to join in on lunches/coffees, hospital calls, and walk with families through difficult situations (sickness, death, etc.)
• EDUCATIONAL

• Read two books this summer. One on leadership, one on Spiritual growth, and walk through book with the Compass Central Student Ministries Pastor.
• Meet with the Compass Central Student Ministries Pastor on a regular basis and stays accountable to the integrity of the program and Compass.
• Follow the direction of their assigned Compass Staff Mentor.

• PROGRAMMING
  • Assist in the planning and execution of assigned programs, events, and trips to navigate students to God.
• COMMUNICATION
  • Promote and grow on social mediums/communication, regularly update websites, utilize The Rock database for creating and communicating events.
  • Communicate effectively, professionally, and consistently with volunteers involved in Compass Ministry about vision of the church, teaching content, programming, and any upcoming events.
• TRANSPORTATION AND INSURANCE
  • Have a vehicle.
  • Have both health and car insurance. (Proof of these insurances will be kept on file at the church).

Qualifications

We Require:

This person must attend Compass Christian Church. This person also must be a committed Christian who is comfortable working in a church environment and is likeminded regarding our Christian Beliefs (meaning you agree with our Beliefs, Core Values, Staff Commandments in the application).

Internship Requirements/Details

• Three-month program, with a performance review
• Pay Scale: $10.00 Per Hour
• Weekend service commitments
• Hours: 10-25 hours/week, Ministerial Exemption for pastoral teaching responsibilities.

Staff Relationship

• Accountable to the Compass Central Student Ministries Pastor (Landon Sherman) who will supervise, encourage, and evaluate the Compass Student Intern.
• Work collaboratively with the Compass Colleyville Student Team depending on the ministry assignment.
• Practice Matthew 18 and show 100% support in all decisions made as a team.
• Follow The 12 Commandments for Compass staff members.

Qualifications

• Be a Biblically based follower of Christ, falling in line with the mission, vision, and beliefs of Compass Christian Church.
• Possess gifts and abilities to lead and mentor students and encourage leaders.
• Have experience in working in a church environment.
• Be a stable, mature, and growing Christian.
• Must be of moral and spiritual integrity in all areas of walk and life, working hard and applying learning to experiences.
