CommunityAmerica Credit Union is Hiring a Senior Financial Analyst Near Lenexa, KS

Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the production of various monthly financial and complex operational reporting as well as support of assigned cost centers to create and manage budgets and forecast expenses. The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to understand banking principals to help operating units with strategic analytics and business case support. This position also supports profitability reporting for the Credit Union and is responsible for ad hoc reporting to Senior Management. This role requires Database experience and SQL knowledge. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with the assigned operating division to understand the dynamics of the business supported. Must demonstrate a strategic sense of service.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, incorporating volume projections and CACU strategic business plan objectives into the annual budget process. 
  • Acts as a subject matter expert for assigned division advising and preparing business case support for new products and initiatives. 
  • Demonstrate strong capabilities in the management of large database files. Provide expertise in management of the database and the extraction of data in usable report formats. Support the connections between Finance software, the data warehouse, and other systems. Assist and support business rules and logic for queries. 
  • Interface with Senior Leadership of the Credit Union and provide Executive Summary reports.
  • Develop an overall understanding of strategic and tactical operations of the credit union, including understanding the needs of members, employees, and the credit union. 
  • Ability to understand and support the credit union’s profitability model, demonstrating an understanding of core financial functions including funds transfer pricing and profitability drivers.
  • Conduct cost/benefit analysis and/or breakeven analysis for various projects assigned. 
  • Continually review methodologies and processes to improve and enhance results within the finance department and within the supported business unit. Lead projects to implement improvement plans. 
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with the values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics of the credit union.
  • Work with other credit union departments to insure end-to-end workflow and processes are effective and efficient. 
  • Promotes honest and open communication throughout the credit union.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least five years of experience in a decision support role.
  • Five or more years of related work experience, preferably within a financial institution.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-starter and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, objectives, and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of financial industry operations.
  • Strong knowledge of utilizing automated budgeting software packages, experience with Axiom EPM a plus.
  • Strong skills in the use of database and reporting tools, including Excel, Tableau, and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong financial modeling skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and training skills.
  • Ability to perform cost analysis of financial products and services.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Very strong knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to be bonded.
