Job Description

As a Resident Service Coordinator (RSC), you play a crucial role in supporting residents within your community. You have the opportunity to make a positive impact by conducting assessments of residents' needs, developing individualized service plans, and providing information and referrals to appropriate social services. Your coordination of community events and activities also cultivates a sense of belonging and promotes social connections among residents. Working closely with the community management, you help ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, as well as a thriving and supportive environment.

This job is part-time, in-person at our NC Five apartment community located at 1025 West Berks St. Philadelphia, PA 19122. 

The pay range for this position is $25 - $26/hr based upon factors including but not limited to related experience and time in the industry.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming New Residents: Reach out to new residents within two weeks of move-in to introduce the RSC's role in the community management team and share more about resident services.
  • Collaborating with Community Management: Work together to engage residents, address safety or behavioral concerns, and promote housing stability.
  • Completing Assessments: Conduct comprehensive, non-clinical assessments of residents for wellness, safety, and social needs or interests.
  • Resident Support: Provide information on resources, services, and programs available in the community, and make referrals to service providers as needed, including help with follow up and delivery of services.
  • Program Development: Collaborate with residents to co-create and organize on-site programs that promote self-sufficiency and social resiliency.
  • Building Relationships: Develop key relationships with community agencies and service providers, including resources like the Area Agency on Aging, local public safety departments, and healthcare and education institutions.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention services to residents in need, including referrals to appropriate community agencies or emergency services.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and complete records of resident interactions, services provided, and program participation, as well as an up-to-date resource directory with all local service providers. Submit required HUD Semi- Annual Performance Report to maintain funding for the resident service program.
  • Evaluation: Collect feedback from residents and evaluate the effectiveness of services and programs, making necessary adjustments to meet the changing needs of the community.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services or related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a social service capacity required
  • Minimum of 1 year of documentation experience required
  • Experience with senior population preferred
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Masters degree in social work
  • Experience working in residence services
