Community Pharmacy on Teasley is Hiring a Pharmacy Technician Near Flower Mound, TX

Description

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician include the following:

  1. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with patients.
  2. Dispense and package medications under the direction of the on-duty pharmacist.
  3. Ensure compliance with all licensure and federal, state, and local laws and regulations; observe the company’s policies on ‘’best practices’’.
  4. Assist in resolving patient concerns and complaints.
  5. Report product incidents as required in accordance with company policy.
  6. Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
  7. Participate in the company’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
  8. Participate in company committees when requested.
  9. Participate in in-service education programs provided by the company.
  10. Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and certification requirements.
  11. Report any misconduct, suspicious or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacist.

The following functions require the professional judgment of a pharmacist and may not be performed by a company technician:

  1. Acceptance of verbal prescriptions.
  2. Certification of filled prescriptions.
  3. Weighing or measuring active drug ingredients without verification by a pharmacist.
  4. Reconstitution of prefabricated medication without verification by a pharmacist.
  5. Entry of orders into the computer system without verification by pharmacist.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
  2. Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.
  3. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
  4. Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
  5. Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
