JOB TITLE: IT SYSTEMS SPECIALIST
SHIFT: DAY
REPORTS TO: IT Manager
  • SUPERVISOR’S NAME: Brandon Welch
  • FLSA STATUS: HOURLY NON-EXEMPT
  • SALARY RANGE: $50,000 DOE
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: NONE
  • POSITION SUMMARY
  • Perform senior level administration and support of the agency’s computer, software, server, networking, and security appliances and services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Proactively monitor and provide technical end user support for agency hardware, software, cloud services, and mobile devices, both onsite and via remote desktop protocols
  • Effectively triage and coordinate remediation tasks in response to hardware, software, network and/or service interruptions, to include escalating support requests to appropriate support teams when appropriate
  • Maintain patching and change management of servers and systems
  • Work with the IT Manager on projects to improve agency security, technical standards, and workflow efficiency.
  • Support implementation, administration, and maintenance of new equipment, software, security appliances, and upgrades.
  • Advise the IT Manager on improvements to processes and technology in accordance with industry best practice standards and collaborate with the IT team and IT Manager to research and implement improvements
  • Work with management to ensure compliance with state and federal privacy laws and child welfare guidelines
  • Receive and process all user access request forms for access to any data system utilized by CPC staff, including systems maintained by DCF
  • Assist with training staff on CPC IT policies and procedures.
  • Maintain network and security devices and services
  • Perform and verify data backups
  • Work with management to ensure emergency procedures and business continuity plans are effectively tested and updated as needed
  • Audit and update IT documentation and user guides as necessary
  • Manage user accounts and access rights to internal network systems and request access to statewide systems (ie, FSFN) Maintain and update CPC IT equipment inventory Open and close help desk tickets, as well as manage the assignment, tracking, and completion of requests

EXPERIENCE/PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, skills and abilities):
  • Three years of end user support and two or more years of system administration experience
  • Excellent assessment skills and intervention strategies
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest version of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge Microsoft Server 2008, 2016, VMWare, Office 365 Management, Antivirus
  • Knowledge of Server applications (File and Print server, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory)
  • Knowledge of cloud application functionality and management
  • EDR and MDR implementation and support
  • Knowledge of multifunction printers, to include network installations and maintenance
  • Prior network experience preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and conflicting priorities
  • Ability to communicate on a non-technical level to non-technical staff
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong customer service skills
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
REQUIRED:
Associate degree or equivalent field experience. Relevant senior technical certifications (CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security , CCNA, etc.) preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Possess a current Background Clearance Screening Letter as required by DCF; and successfully complete the background screening requirements for Community Partnership for Children.
If local travel is required, a Valid Florida driver’s license and documentation of current automobile insurance, with $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability limit, is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employee will work in an office/clerical environment. The employee will work predominantly seated with recurrent need to walk, stand, and bend from the waist. Occasional light lifting, stooping, and climbing may be required. Occasional local travel.
