Position: 6th Grade Teacher

Workdays: 191 days (4-day student week)

Salary: $52,500.00 bachelor’s - $55,500 master’s

Responsibilities:

6th grade teachers are indispensable in our school community, serving as the cornerstone in fulfilling our educational mission. Their responsibilities encompass a wide array of essential tasks, including:

Planning, Guiding, and Evaluating Learning: Elementary teachers are responsible for meticulously planning, guiding, and evaluating the learning journey of students. They do so within the parameters of our educational philosophy and curriculum framework, ensuring that each student receives a well-rounded and comprehensive education tailored to their individual needs.

Creating an Ideal Learning Atmosphere: These teachers are instrumental in creating an optimal learning environment where students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to excel. They cultivate a classroom atmosphere that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning, laying the foundation for academic success.

Implementing High-Quality Programs: Elementary teachers utilize cutting-edge educational programs such as the Core Knowledge Sequence®, Into Literature, Reveal Math, and Accelerated Reader to enhance the learning experience. By integrating these innovative resources into their teaching practices, they provide students with the tools and resources necessary to thrive academically.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado teaching license with endorsement in Elementary Education OR 36 credit hours in Elementary Education OR Passed Elementary Education PRAXIS exam
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching practices
  • Preferred experience with Direct Instruction methods such as the Madeline Hunter Method (I do, we do, you do), Teach Like a Champion techniques, skill mastery, high expectations, and classical education approach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Previous teaching experience preferred, or relevant work experience with children
