Full Time - Family Resource Specialist
The Pathways to Safety Program is currently seeking experienced professionals to join our team. We are an early intervention program for Child Protective Services (CPS), also known as Family and Children’s Services (FCS) operating in Monterey County. The Family Resource Specialist will engage with individuals and families in a professional and compassionate manner, facilitating connections to a wide range of available resources. Your role will be instrumental in improving the overall well-being of families and reducing the risk of children entering the welfare system. If you possess the necessary expertise and a genuine commitment to making a lasting impact, we invite you to apply. This role is performed primarily via telephone assistance, supported occasionally by face-to-face meetings.
Essential Duties:
  • Collaboration with ACTION Council, Family and Children’s Services, Door to Hope, CalFresh and Medi-Cal along with other affiliating agencies.
  • Conducts family needs assessment, articulates program benefits via telephone.
  • Engages families in goal setting.
  • Links families to community resources.
  • Enrolls or refers families to benefits programs.
  • Documents services with accurate and detailed records and enters data into web-based management information system.
Minimum qualifications:
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations and maintain client confidentiality.
  • B.A. required in Social Services and related field or equivalent 3 to 5 years of field experience.
  • Knowledge of community base agencies, schools, and faith-based organizations.
  • Must possess strong communications and interpersonal skills along with excellent computer skills needed.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to take direction and learn from supervision.
  • Ability to transport residents and their children safely.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as member of team.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
  • TB clearance (at initial hire and annually thereafter).
  • Ability to assist debilitated clients.
  • Ability to perform basic household chores and duties.
  • Ability to tolerate reasonable, moderate levels of stress.
Salary $53,634 - $65,193/year D.O.E. Additional 5% if bilingual (E/S). Generous benefits package including medical, dental and vision coverage. EOE. www.chservices.org
