Job Description
About Community Health Partnership
CHP imagines a world where collaboration, connectedness, and equity form the foundation of thriving communities, where everyone has what they need to flourish. We understand that to truly transform the flawed systems we operate within, we need leaders who think differently, redesign, and rebuild. Working on specific, topics-based projects and within the broader community, we bring people together to reimagine how we work together solving complex health issues.
Are you a trailblazer in the world of operations, driven by a purpose that transcends traditional boundaries? Do you see beyond the fabric of existing systems, processes, and structures, envisioning a way to revolutionize them for the greater good? Community Health Partnership in Colorado Springs is seeking an Operations Director like you — someone who sees the bigger picture, who nurtures relationships, and believes in the power of strategic foresight to transform our community landscape.
At CHP, you’ll be the cornerstone of our mission. You're the architect of our operations, building the foundation that allows our program staff to excel in their roles and maximize their impact. This role will oversee the usual systems, processes, and structures, but we see it a little differently than a traditional role. You’re not just keeping the lights on; you’re reimagining how the house is built and designing the blueprint alongside organizational leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and recommend systems, methodologies, and enhancements to our current processes and infrastructure, aligned with our long-term goals and the evolving needs of both CHP and our community.
  • Work with various teams - programs, finance, resource development, and communications - to co-create strategies and tactics that bridge the gap between vision and implementation.
  • Be conduit between external consultants and vendors on specific areas of work, including human resources and IT.
  • Ensure the development and successful execution of converting project strategies into an actionable plan with key deliverables and milestones, timelines, and ownership.
  • Learn in real time, adapting systems and processes to evolving needs in our organizational ecosystem.
  • Navigate the complexities of our mission and business needs, balancing risk with potential, to guide us to the "next right step."
  • Foster an environment of innovation and improvement, encouraging the team to think beyond traditional boundaries through mentoring, coaching, and leading teams.
  • Experimenting and assessing what you build as CHP grows and adapts to evolving needs; some of our programs are in start-up cycle and we are learning as we go - adaptation and iteration is key!
Capabilities Background Areas of Expertise
  • Ability to balance a process and system mindset with people needs and skills.
  • Ability to navigate change, gain buy-in for initiatives, and implement strategies that move us toward transformation.
  • High self-awareness, empathy authenticity and emotional intelligence, with a commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Experience giving/receiving feedback, holding others accountable to processes and systems, and facilitating team meetings.
  • Extensive experience (6 years) in one or some of the following: nonprofit operations, systems thinking, nonprofit administration, business operations, workflow processes.
  • Experience in setting up HR structures with human centered approach, including assessing current systems, recruiting and onboarding employees, and staff development
  • Understanding and awareness of the funding ecosystem, particularly navigating grants management, reporting, and relationships.
  • 6 years experience managing both people, teams, and resources.
Our Investment in You
  • Salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 – 110,000/annually, depending on experience.
  • Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K
  • Generous vacation and sick time; flexible schedule.
  • Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability
Don't meet every single requirement? We're committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workforce. Studies have shown that women and/or people of color are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every qualification. If you're excited about this role, feel a passion for our mission, this feels like it could be your dream job, but your previous experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply!
