Salary Range: $115,070.35 - $120,823.87 Salary/year

Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Systems Engineer administers the operations of computer systems related to operating systems, servers, networks, firewalls, end-user workstations, and data center technologies. Although the Systems Engineer is not responsible for writing new application software, the Systems Engineer demonstrates an understanding of how software behaves to deploy, configure, and troubleshoot systems. The Systems Engineer also is heavily involved with identifying, prioritizing, and resolving critical network-related issues that impact business operations. The Engineer proactively seeks to communicate solutions to network-related issues and preferred emerging technologies that can be used to improve the overall health of the company network. Finally, the Systems Engineer researches new technologies and leverages optimization techniques to ensure that systems operate efficiently.

COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS

Works closely with all departments to ensure that the processes, programs, and services needed are delivered in a timely and efficient manner. The Systems Engineer will also ensure the infrastructure and database systems operate by CHG policies and procedures as well as compliance with applicable state and federal regulations including all CMS and/or DHCS requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain web, virtual, and client-server environments for the enterprise
  • Maintain the operations of all virtual, web, storage, and client systems to ensure the availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any IT service issues related to operating systems and servers
  •  A primary staff member for ensuring all backup processes are completed. This includes tape backups, job verification, and tape rotations.
  • Assist with creating and updating server infrastructure documentation to include instructional guides, procedural documents, and knowledgebase articles.
  • Domain Administration: Manage Active Directory, Group Policies, and DHCP services by industry-standard best practices.
  • Partner with the infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues
  • Partner with the infrastructure team to remediate and resolve security-related issues
  • Implement and maintain a systems business impact assessment to prioritize system recovery in the event of a failure
  • Train the technical support staff on solving common systems-related problems
  • Design, build, and implement software standards for servers, operating systems, and end-user workstations
  • Leverage optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of all computer systems
  • Work with third-party vendors and consultants on developing system-specific skills
  • Work with the technical team to ensure that hardware and software infrastructure is maintained with the latest firmware and software requirements
  • Manage basic and expedited support to resolve all networking-related issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all expedited issues impacting the customers’ and businesses' challenges and needs
  • Proactively communicate the status, plan of action(s), and resolution(s) of issues
  • Monitor and report the performance of network components against KPIs and take preemptive measures to minimize interruptions
  • Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall network health by assessing overall effectiveness and efficiency
  • Knowledge in designing, implementing, and maintaining databases using SQL.
  • Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum practices and contribute to DevOps-related projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Education:

  • Technical-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • CompTIA certifications : Network , Security ,

  • Microsoft certifications: 365 Administrator/Engineer level

  • Cisco: CCNA

Experience/Skills

  • 3-5 years of relative experience in a health care environment preferred.

  • 3-5 years of relative experience in a Microsoft/VMWare environment

  • Proficient skills in Windows 10 and Windows 11 Desktop operating system

  • Proficient knowledge of Windows servers (2012/2016/2019/2022)

  • Demonstrated experience in the following networking concepts:

  • Directory Services (e.g. Windows 2000 AD, LDAP)
  • Systems (e.g. UNIX, Windows, MS Exchange)
  • Internet Protocols (e.g. DNS, HTTP, SMTP, SSL)

Knowledge of how firewall configuration and troubleshooting

Experience with different network types (i.e. LAN, WAN)

Proficient knowledge in GPO

Intermediate knowledge in daofbase server administration

Knowledge of vsan and NAS storage (NetApp, freenas, and Nutanix)

Current, valid California Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance

Physical Requirements

  • May be required to work evenings, early mornings, on-call, and weekends.

  • Some driving may be required.

  • Ability to lift to 50lb.
