Community Health And Social Services Center is Hiring a FAMILY MEDICINE DOCTOR Near Detroit, MI

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.
  • Discusses cases with Physicians and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Refers patients to Physicians for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
  • Analyzes and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Develops treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines.
  • Diagnoses and treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and injuries.
  • Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and herbal remedies.
  • Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions, with special attention to vulnerable populations such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, and older adults.
  • Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients' circumstances.
  • Practices universal precautions according to OSHA standards by using personal protection equipment including masks, gloves, and safety glasses to protect against infectious diseases.
  • Supervises, teaches and evaluates nurse practitioner students.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality by complying with HIPAA standards.
  • Collaborates with members of the health care team and other health professionals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises Nurse Practitioner students/precept residents.

Computer skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical School and eligible for or currently board certified or eligible in Family Medicine in addition to being licensed by the State of Michigan. Residency/Fellowship training by an ACGME/AOA accredited program is required

In addition:

  • MAT Certification
  • Current AHA- Basic Life Support (BLS) with recertification as required.

Other skills and abilities:

  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish preferred.

Typical physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk and hear. Some bending, lifting, and stretching are required. Working under stress and use of a telephone is required. The employee is frequently required to sit and use their hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a normal primary care clinic environment, occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Working under stress and use of a telephone is required. Manual dexterity is required.
