Community Health Alliance is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team who will be responsible for supporting the CFO in managing the financial operations of the organization. Oversee and coordinate administrative tasks. Work closely with accounting and billing teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain internal controls, and assist in budgeting and analysis.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting system and oversee the accounting department for accurate and timely reporting.
  • Manage systems for handling receipts and disbursements while ensuring segregation of duties.
  • Help develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
  • Help develop and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile accounts, review and prepare journal entries, and assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review accounts payable processing for accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare periodic electronic health records/billing reports.
  • Coordinate the accurate and timely preparation of reports to government agencies.
  • Make suggestions for efficiencies and automating processes.
  • Attend pertinent training courses (webinars, seminars, workshops, etc.) for personal and professional growth.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
  • Assist in preparation of audit schedules and documentation.
  • Additional job responsibilities as directed by the CFO.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Financial operations knowledge; principals of accounting, financial management and budgetary practices;
  • Computer knowledge, including, but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet development, graphical displays, email and internet use and presentations and networks;
  • Ability to analyze financial data and patterns;
  • Skill in providing excellent customer service and support; organizing and prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines; and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work effectively with managers, co-workers, members of the public and professional groups.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, concisely with others (internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing), consistently demonstrate positive/proactive customer service attitude. Consistently maintains ethical behaviors exemplary of quality public service and fair standards, inclusively, among all employees and members of the public.
  • Ability to work as an effective team member; function independently, exercise sound judgment and initiative; be flexible to shift priorities; maintain confidentiality; establish and maintain effective interpersonal work relationships, effectively assist providers; work toward goals and objectives of draft priorities.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback including evaluation of provider’s productivity and practice attributes.
Education & Experience Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 5 years general accounting experience required
  • 3 years managerial experience preferred
Certifications, Licensure and/or Registrations Required
  • CPA or Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
Supervisory Responsibility
Yes (1-2 staff)
Travel
Limited driving in accordance with job duties
