Description

The purpose of this position is to provide clinical and programmatic leadership for the MCR team, and assist with the overall functioning of C4’s mobile crisis programs. The MCR Program Manager shall perform supervisory duties that ensure the quality of clinical work and empower staff to advance to further levels of competency. They shall train clinical staff to provide crisis intervention services and pre-screening to children, adolescents, and adults in crisis, with the goal of immediate symptom reduction, stabilization and restoration to a previous level of functioning.

In addition, they shall work to develop relationships with DCFS and DMH funded agencies, and other mental health service providers throughout the north and west sides of Chicago and suburbs.

Location and Work Conditions:

The MCR Supervisor’s primary work location shall be in an office setting at one of C4’s locations. However, they shall also work in the communities that C4 serves, primarily to provide onsite training and address staffing shortages. They shall provide on-call staffing coverage, which might include certain weekends, some overnight shifts, and occasional holidays. Work may be stressful due to consumer trauma, periods of high call volume, or tight deadlines.

This position includes Administrator on Call (AOC) shifts that may require a work schedule beyond the standard 40 hours. The allocation of duties can be completed within those AOC shifts, or outside of them, in a hybrid fashion in accordance with the supervisor's preferences, needs of the department, and approval of the director.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Trains and supervises employees to procedures and clinical functions
  2. Triage duties as assigned by supervisor
  3. Directs and oversees direct reports in crisis intervention services to individuals in crisis, with the goal of immediate symptom reduction and restoration to a previous level of functioning
  4. Schedules employees to provide adequate coverage
  5. Ensures documentation quality, completion and compliance always, as well as monitors timelines and agency policies and procedures according to C4’s guidelines
  6. Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and accreditation requirements related to service delivery policies, practices, and reporting standards
  7. Is responsible for performance feedback and formal evaluation, and disciplinary action in consultation with direct supervisor
  8. Develops, coaches, guides, and determines individual performance expectations for direct reports
  9. Monitors, manages, and is accountable for productivity goal and concerns of direct reports
  10. Initiates, cultivates and maintains professional relationships within C4 to enhance communications, support, and service alignment
  11. Always maintains compliance with confidentiality policies and procedures
  12. Maintains positive and mutually respectful relationships with other human service providers, entitlement agencies, health care vendors, and the community
  13. Assist with outcome measures and data collection and organization
  14. Oversees the functioning of night and weekend shifts, including reviewing shift reports, engaging in follow up, approving documentation, and immediate intervention during urgent situations.
  15. Fulfillment of AOC duties which require an administrative intervention during overnight and/or weekend shifts
  16. Hosting, developing, and executing monthly meetings for overnight and weekend teams that include both supervisory and administrative functions, as well as the development of clinical skills and understanding.
  17. Responsible for the overall wellness of the overnight/weekend teams, cohesiveness of team building, resourcing, and support, integration of new staff, and execution of appropriate policies and procedures by shift leads.
  18. Coordination with shift lead supervisors to ensure appropriate running of shifts.
  19. Attend clinical meetings and trainings
  20. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications:

  1. MA/MS in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required
  2. LCSW or LCPC required
  3. At least 1 year of crisis intervention or psychiatric services highly preferred, with increasing levels of clinical responsibilities and supervisory duties
  4. Experience in counseling is required.
  5. Personal vehicle, valid Illinois driver’s license, insurable driving record, and vehicle insurance is required.

Competencies (Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Experience):

  1. Working knowledge of community-based mental health
  2. Detailed and current knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices, with an emphasis on trauma informed care and intervention
  3. Demonstrated leadership experience including direct staff management, internship supervision, or licensure supervision.
  4. Clinical competencies, including trauma-informed and brief therapy techniques, as aligned with training mandated by C4
  5. Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate de-escalation and brief therapy techniques.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral skills to communicate effectively with all levels of organizational leadership, employees, governmental and community representatives, and vendors
  7. Ability to develop solutions to problems and to analyze qualitative and quantitative data
  8. Ability to cooperate within a team
  9. Adherence to confidentiality practices and procedures
  10. Demonstrated ability to be respectful of the diverse cultures of the people served and to provide culturally appropriate, competent and individualized treatment in accordance with each client’s age, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, and culture
