Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking is Hiring a Housing Operations Coordinator Near Knoxville, TN

The Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking (CCAHT) unites and equips our community - Knoxville and the 33 counties of East Tennessee - to end human trafficking through prevention and intervention, while providing survivors with trauma-informed, comprehensive aftercare services. Through our direct services program, Grow Free TN, we offer a variety of services to those impacted by human trafficking. All of our services are free, individualized, and all-inclusive.

Through the Tennessee Counter-Trafficking Alliance, CCAHT serves as the single point of contact partner for the East Tennessee region.

POSITION

Reporting to the Director of Adult Services, the Housing Operations Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for coordination and facilitation of daily operations as well as various programmatic requirements within the emergency receiving center and the long-term supportive housing (Phoenix House). This position will provide direct supervision of Housing Support Staff (HSS) and act as the liaison between HSS and the Director of Adult Services. The Housing Operations Coordinator will work collaboratively with clients and other community professionals to ensure a robust therapeutic menu of services is available to survivors working with the CCAHT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

● Manages daily operations of emergency receiving shelter and long-term supportive housing programs including procuring and maintaining groceries and supplies, coordinating maintenance needs, and oversight of daily household living operations for clients

● Creates and distributes shelter staffing schedule, ensuring 24/7 staff coverage is available for client care response

● Provides coaching and supervision of Housing Support Staff and acts as a liaison between HSS and the Director of Adult Services

● Fosters and engages in creative problem-solving to manage client and shelter needs

● Collaborates with Grow Free TN care team to maximize available support to individuals affected by human trafficking

● Provides crisis intervention and facilitates conflict resolution with a composed demeanor, utilizing a trauma-informed approach

● Works with key CCAHT staff and management to ensure efficient shelter operations

● Contributes to policy and procedure development of emergency receiving shelter and long-term supportive housing operations

● Ensures accurate and timely documentation of client records using Apricot Data Management software

● Designs creative and thoughtful menu of activities and opportunities around relevant topics to ensure ongoing ability to support program curriculum

● Cultivates and maintains positive relationships with community partners to sustain a collaborative network for service provision

● Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvements as needed

● Provides direct support to clients as needed, including transportation, intervention, safety-planning, etc.

● Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The Housing Operations Coordinator will be thoroughly committed to the Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking’s mission. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

● Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a strong academic background, Master’s degree preferred

● Experience working with survivors of human trafficking and/or related programs preferred

● At least 1 year of management/supervisory experience

● Experience with professional collaboration and successful community engagement

● Ability to work with diverse populations

● Sensitivity to sexual exploitation, domestic violence and other gender-related issues

● Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

● Ability and willingness to work irregular hours as needed

● Adaptability and Flexibility – personal and situational

● Excellent organizational and communication skills

● Persistent, capacity for hard work with an ability to multitask and prioritize

● Valid Driver’s license and access to personal transportation

● F-endorsement or eligibility to obtain F-endorsement upon hire

● Current insurance and vehicle registration

● Successful completion of criminal background checks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

● Ability to communicate clearly in English both written and verbal

● Sit or stand for extended periods

● Bend, stoop, and/or squat

● PC/Keyboarding abilities

● Lift up to 40 pounds

● Regularly exposed to cleaning products, chemicals and solvents.

● Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.

● Work extended hours as needed (>40 per week)
