Start Date: 2024-2025 School Year

Position: 2nd Grade Teacher

Regular duties and responsibilities include:

• Providing engaging and challenging instruction in all content areas especially reading and math
• Using a variety of instructional strategies for students with different learning styles and needs, including small group instruction and differentiated lessons
• Creates a classroom environment that promotes learning and fosters age-appropriate growth and development for all students
• Manages the classroom behavior of all students according to classroom rules and student handbook
• Creating and posting lesson plans that align with state standards on a consistent basis
• Utilizing a variety of classroom management strategies to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn in a distraction-free environment
• Utilizing technology to enhance instruction and create engaging lessons, including Google classroom
• Maintaining an accurate and up to date grade book, providing students and parents with real time feedback on learning
• Assessing student learning through a variety of methods including formative and summative assessments
• Communicating with parents to inform them of student progress, including written, phone, or face to face conferencing as needed
• Participating in meaningful professional development opportunities as coordinated by the CCS Administrative Team
• Attending, supporting or sponsoring extracurricular activities as assigned
• Ability to work with a team to create lesson plans, instructional activities, plan field trips, assessments, and other learning experiences for students.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrative Team

Physical requirements include:

• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs
• Ability to clearly communicate with students, parents, and staff
• Ability to travel to and from the workplace

Required qualifications include:

• Belief in Jesus Christ and status as saved Christian in accordance with the Christian faith and the mission of CCS
• Bachelor's degree or higher in field
• Ability to effectively communicate (written, oral) in standard English

Preferred qualifications include:

• State certification in Elementary Education or English
• Previous teaching experience in Elementary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,208.25 - $40,000.00 per year
