Summary: The Clinical supervisor is responsible for general oversight of clinical service delivery by providing direct and or indirect supervision to Case Managers, QMHPs and CSSP. This include face to face supervision and feedback relative to consumer assessments, admissions, individual service plan development and implementation, individual service plan modification and discharge planning.
Job Environment: The Clinical supervisor will generally perform the job at the office, community and home environment.
Minimum Qualifications: LPHA or licensed practitioner of the healing arts--A staff member who is:
(A) a physician;
(B) a licensed professional counselor;
(C) a licensed clinical social worker;
(D) a licensed psychologist;
(E) an advanced practice nurse; or
(F) a licensed marriage and family therapist.
Clinical Director Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities are:
- Work with Executive Director to fulfill mission and guides activities to actualize our mission & vision. Work with Program Director and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through strategic planning, relevant programming and community outreach.
- Senior-level executive leader ultimately responsible for clinical service delivery by providing direct and or indirect supervision to Case Managers and QMHPs. This include face to face supervision and feedback relative to consumer assessments, admissions, individual service plan development and implementation, individual service plan modification and discharge planning.
- Train Case Managers and QMHP; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching staff members.
- Responsible for the enhancement of the image by establishing and maintaining relationships with various community organizations, hospitals, shelters, and benefactors throughout the city, and county. Responsible for leveraging those relationships to strategically enhance Mental Health agency marketing efforts to increase our client intake and take our agency to the next level.
- Supervise, lead, and mentor clinical team members in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Meet regularly with supervisees and provide them with sufficient time and ensure an appropriate workload so that all professional responsibilities are met.
- Provide initial client assessment when needed
- Take sufficient time to make certain supervisees are well informed about laws, ethics and agency policies/procedures and re-assesses the need to address these throughout the supervisory relationship.
- Monitor client progress regularly, utilizing a team approach.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems, meeting with clients and parents, troubleshooting tasks, and managing work for adequate organizational work flow.
- Maintain thorough and detailed records of supervisory relationships.
- Frequently address ethical and legal issues with supervisee to increase confidence and competence in increasingly difficult or complex areas and am receptive to supervisees raising these concerns.
- Identify and promptly respond to supervisee errors and/or risky practices in all phases of client contact. Accurately document supervision provided including actions taken to address problem areas and skill attainment
- Be familiar enough with supervisee’s clients to know when reassignment, transfer or termination are necessary as well as when consultation and/or a specialist is needed for treatment of a particular client.
- Monitor supervisee’s level of competence in all phases of client contact. Provide timely, fair and informative feedback on supervisees performance.
- Monitor proper boundaries between supervisee and clients addressing unforeseen problems and conflicts as they arise.
- Provide sufficient monitoring and information to supervisees in order to protect clients or other third parties from harm including negligent treatment.
- Participate in continuing education opportunities that address current knowledge and emerging developments related to clinical supervision, ethics and social work practices.
- Review and approve supervisee’s records and documentation as well as client-related decisions and actions.
- Provide individual/group therapy to individuals in our services that are in need of counseling.
