Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals (DSP). The role of a direct support professional is complex and requires a specific set of skills and values. The following represents what to expect as a direct support professional.

•Assist people who need support to lead self-directed lives and participate fully in their communities. Direct support professionals recognize the unique gifts, preferences and needs of each person supported.

• Recognize the personhood of people they support. Direct Support Professionals partner with them in making informed decisions and everyday choices about their finances, well-being, relationships, and employment.

• Realize that their role includes being a mentor and a facilitator. Direct support professionals inform the people they support regarding their responsibilities and advocate with them for their valued role in society.

Duties:
- Support individuals with mobility needs, including heavy lifting and transferring
- Monitor and record vital signs as needed
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as toileting and hygiene tasks
- Provide companionship and engage in social activities with individuals
- Implement behavior support plans and strategies for individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Support individuals in community integration and participation in recreational activities
- Safely operate a vehicle to transport individuals to community outings

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required
- Understanding of working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred, training provided
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively alone or in a team environment

Pay: $15.50 - $16.75 per hour
