COMMUNITY AND RURAL HEALTH SERVICES is Hiring a Coder Near Fremont, OH

Community Health Services (CHS) is seeking an experienced, Certified Professional Coder to work in our Fremont office. This is a full-time position, no weekends, or holidays. The Coder will be responsible for reviewing, verifying, and coding all diagnoses, symptoms, and procedures for claims processing. This position will work closely with providers, nursing staff, and the Quality Department to ensure proper coding for timely billing.

Qualified candidates must have the following to be considered for employment:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and/or American Association of Coding Professionals (AAPC) recognized national examination leading to the achievement of a professional credential of Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a certified coder within the healthcare field
  • Must maintain an active coding certificate
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and state and federal Medicare reimbursement guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret medical procedures and terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports and related documents
  • Maintain working relationships with providers and staff
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must have excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail
  • Prioritizes responsibilities, takes initiative, and possesses excellent organizational skills
