Job SummaryPosition Title: Transitional Housing Specialist
Program: Domestic Violence Services
Classification: Non-exempt / Hourly
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES
  • Provide safety planning, case management and supportive services to domestic violence survivors living at the DVS Bridge House. Practice with a trauma-informed, voluntary and victim- centered services model. Follow up with TH clients for 3-6 months per program requirements.
  • Educate Bridge House residents to understand the dynamics of domestic violence, including economic abuse. Provide economic empowerment counseling and education. Assist survivors to identify permanent housing options and create/implement a housing plan.
  • Collaborate with OVW Project TH partners, the homelessness coalition and other housing and homelessness providers in Lancaster Countyto advocate for domestic violence victims to access resources in their programs. Remain current with policies and practices pertaining to housing and homelessness in the county; share information with staff members and program participants.
  • Attending the Bridge House facility – track maintenance issues and upkeep requests, building cleanliness and organization. Perform periodic apartment checks. Ensure apartments are adequately furnished and equipped for occupancy.
  • Timely data entry and effective use of program evaluation tools utilizing the client database and/or other identified data collection sources. Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and completeness of client files. Administer outcomes tools.
  • Complete a minimum of 10 hours of relevant continuing education annually.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education/Experience Requirements
  • Degree in Social Work or related human services field, OR equivalent experience & education.
  • Experience with client-centered services strongly desired.
  • Bilingual skills (English and a second language) strongly desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required.
  • Social justice mindset. Strong desire to participate in and promote a trauma-informed, empowering culture that celebrates diversity.
