Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Consult with the Adult Education Director and EL Civics Program Manager in developing lesson plans, planning activities, instructional materials, classroom resources, and staff development concerns.
  • Effectively lead and coordinate program curriculum and instruction, inclusive of face-to-face and remote learning.
  • Coach new and existing instructors on best practices in Adult Education, including the implementation of Texas AEL Content Standards.
  • Coordinate or develop specialized curriculum for Career Pathways models.
  • Coach new and existing Career Pathways instructors on TWC guidance on Career Pathways.
  • Design or Review classroom syllabus and standard lesson plans for compliance with TWC requirements and Adult Education best practices to meet the needs of students.
  • Ensure the incorporation of functional context, health literacy, workforce preparation, career awareness, digital literacy skills and transition skills in all lesson planning and curriculum.
  • Maintain and update the list of instructional materials and resources, including paper and digital resources.
  • Assist the Adult Education Director, EL Civics Program Manager, and PD Coordinator in designing an ongoing program-wide staff development plan.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Maintains confidentiality: records, client services, and staff.
  • Adheres to Agency’s best practices related to time and leave.
  • Dress is appropriate to work environment.
  • Maintains a safe, orderly and clean environment.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
  • Master’s Degree in Education or related field
  • 3 years of teaching experience in Adult Education or Literacy Program
  • 1 year of supervisory or educational coaching experience
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and English
Required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Instructional Design or a strongly related field
  • 1 year experience teaching in a Texas Adult Education and Literacy Program
  • Demonstrated instructional effectiveness (as evidenced in TEAMS student outcomes)
Other Requirements:
  • Daily access to vehicle
  • Vehicle liability insurance
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • At least 21 years old
