Salary: $24.50 Hr

Mission:
Helping Central Texans improve economics self-reliance through a wide range of services and community partnerships.
Strategic Function:
To plan, develop, and provide National Association of Certified Bookkeepers and/or QuickBooks Online User credential training services for adults in an Integrated Education & Training (IET) course designed to prepare students for employment in entry-level bookkeeping and accounting positions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Academically prepare entry-level bookkeeping and accounting professionals for National Association of Certified Bookkeepers and/or QuickBooks Online User certification exams.
2. Coordinate with assigned Adult Basic Education (ABE) instructor to develop syllabi and to integrate workforce preparation and contextualized academic lessons with training.
3. Ensure student sign in attendance sheets are accurate, complete, and signed to show attendance verification.
4. Participate in workshops, in-service training, professional development, and make use of personal and professional growth as outlined by the CAI staff requirements and/or as assigned by supervisor.
5. Compile, administer, and grade examinations as needed.
6. Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and retention issues.
7. Incorporate functional context, workforce preparation, computer skills and transition skills in all lesson planning and curriculum.
8. Select and maintain communication tool to use throughout the course with students and IET Coordinator: Remind, phone list, group email list or other app.
9. Ensure accountability requests regarding TEAMS (Texas Education Adults Management System) are being met; Retention, Completion of Level, Gains, and Follow up Measures.
10. Cooperate and coordinate with TWC monitors when program is being reviewed.
11. Special project assignment: as assigned, adult education instructor will adhere to special project grant and/or funding requirements such as but not limited to: outreach and recruitment; facilitation of student orientations; coordination of internship/volunteer activities; prepare and maintain project documentation; meet with project staff accordingly; attend special project training, etc.
12. Maintain and update instructional materials in classroom by keeping classroom and/or site inventory and informing immediate supervisor of material needs.
13. Understand and provide information concerning CAI and other local community resources and inviting representatives as guest speakers for sites and classrooms, and make appropriate referrals.
14. Collaborate and coordinate adult education activities, classes, etc. with site partners and other community organizations including other CAI programs, in delivering services in the most effective and seamless manner.

Qualifications:
Preferred:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
2. Certified Public Accountant
3. Experience teaching National Association of Certified Bookkeepers and/or QuickBooks Online User certification exam preparation.
4. Experience working with educationally and/or economically disadvantaged adults.
5. Experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds.
6. Experience working in collaborative or “team” environments.
7. Ability to communicate in Spanish and English.
Required:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in any field
2. QuickBooks Online User Certification or willingness and ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring date
3. National Association of Certified Bookkeepers certification or willingness and ability to obtain within 90 days of hiring date
4. Experience teaching adults and/or facilitating groups.
5. Experience using QuickBooks Online in a professional setting
6. Professional Development Continuing Education: willingness and ability to complete annual staff development hours as required by Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Adult Education Division
7. Ability to communicate in English
