Community Access Unlimited is Hiring a Director of Transition Services Near Elizabeth, NJ

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director to oversee our organization's Supported Employment Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing/implementing program policies, budget, and employment contracts; and in coordinating service delivery to participants of various grant programs and/or DVRS.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to lead a dynamic team in making a positive impact on the community.
JOB TASKS:
1. Ensures all contractual obligations within the various grant programs of the employment department are met
2. Maintains appropriate levels of service and employment supports for participants
3. Builds community relationships for job development
4. Ensures employment services are consistent with participants objectives, goals and service plans
5. Ensures compliance with CARF accreditation requirements and DVRS Standards
6. Maintains effective supervision with staff
7. Maintains appropriate human resources practices including recruiting, orientation, training and retention
8. Ensures progressive program development
9. Ensures members’ health, safety and welfare
10. Ensures appropriate staff/member relations
11. Ensures sound program financial management
12. Ensures compliance with all required state and federally mandated background and exclusion checks including but not limited to criminal history background investigation (fingerprinting), Central Registry, Child Abuse Record Information (CARI), drug testing, and motor vehicle checks.
13. Cooperate with Agency and funding source staff in any inspection or investigation.
14. All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, minimum AA degree in Human Service related field. Vocational / DVRS experience a plus. Five years of related Human Services experience with at least two years in a supervisory role.
SHIFT: Typically, Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., field work can lead to evening and weekend hours
