Work hours: 40 hours per week - Hybrid

Starting Salary: $60,000, Employer contributes 13.2% of gross salary to a 401(a)-employee retirement plan. (Vested 100% on day 1 of hire).


The YouthWorks Regional Support Manager
provides an ongoing implementation of youth employment and career readiness initiatives through program-related regional support to a statewide network of program partners. A significant portion of the work involves supporting program partners at MassHires in YouthWorks, the statewide subsidized youth employment program that CommCorp administers on behalf of the Executive Office of Workforce and Labor Development (EOWLD). This position is ideal for an individual with a clear understanding of Salesforce, contract negotiations, budgets, and youth career or workforce development programming. This is a full-time position that is currently a hybrid. The position will consist of a mix of remote work and occasional travel to program partner sites for site visits.

The YouthWorks Regional Support Manager will:

  • Provide leadership and support ongoing partnerships with grantees by executing deliverables in a timely fashion, communicating regularly with appropriate program contacts to support program execution, and lifting larger program concerns that threaten the success of the partnership / program
  • Support regions in the implementation of key programmatic components including but not limited to work-based learning, project and service-based learning, Signal Success, occupational skills training and partnership development with key community, education and employer stakeholders
  • Provides guidance to grantees about program design improvements and general grantee policies and practices; identifies and coordinates the deployment of resources to meet regional needs
  • Help plan and deliver professional development and regional support in a variety of forms including webinars and written informational resources
  • Conduct supportive site visits with YouthWorks and additional program partners to document program practices and identify areas that require additional assistance.
  • Coordinate and host check-in meetings
  • Provides support to the YouthWorks leadership team with ongoing performance reviews and develops strategies to assist grantees with any challenges they may encounter
  • Ensures grantees meet outcomes and that initiative/program goals are met
  • Conduct site visits
  • Assists with various phases of procurement from proposal review to contract development to review of final reporting
  • Create contracts in Salesforce and negotiate reduction in grant awards to ensure consistent cost per outcomes are maintained
  • Review budgets and invoices for processing
  • Supports regions through requests to modify contracts and budgets
  • Monitor divisional revenue and expenditures to identify whether grants are on budget
  • Additional projects as needed: these may include leading workshops and classes for youth, documenting models of effective practice in youth employment and training; developing profiles of local programs and youth participants; managing promotional aspects such as developing marketing collateral and tracking new partner leads.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of workforce development programming as it relates to program implementation, policy development and labor market trends
  • Familiarity with MassHire Career Centers and the functioning of a workforce board
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to motivate others on a team and help them succeed
  • Multitasking skills and the ability to tend to multiple problems at a time
  • Problem-solving skills, especially in situations of high stress
  • Organizational skills to manage large amounts of information
  • Ability to generate a variety of reports and presentations displaying regional performance
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in managing grants, including budgets and invoicing
  • Bachelors degree or advanced degree preferred, but not required
