Summary: Develop and administer a comprehensive academic support program provided to a caseload of student-athletes and assist with evaluation; Meet individually with assigned student-athletes to help them develop learning strategies, goal setting and time management skills; Work with student-athletes on major choice and career planning, utilizing major maps and other resources; Assist SASS Athletic Coordinators in monitoring student-athletes’ continuing eligibility; Create, manage and submit weekly academic reports and updates; Maintain accurate and detailed written documentation for each student-athlete during their course stay at VCU as required by the NCAA; Assist with the supervision of the mandatory Study Hall program; Assist with the daily operations of the Athletic Tutoring program, including hiring, training, scheduling, and compiling comprehensive reports; Assist the Academic Coach with programming and individualized support for caseload of student-athletes; Assist in the coordination and implementation of student-athlete development programs and academic events; Support SASS staff with a variety of tasks required in the day-to-day operations of an Academic Support Services office; Maintain confidential records, adhere to FERPA guidelines and all departmental confidentiality policies; All duties and responsibilities must be completed in compliance with University, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; Some work assignments and event participation will require weekend and evening hours; Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Required Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills; Must be available to work some evening and/or weekend hours, as needed; and Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
