Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to assist the 2 current Full-time RDs. This position will not have a set schedule but will be available to assess the nutrition needs of our residents and utilize MDS 3.0 as requested. The hours are flexible but typically 8-4:30 Monday through Friday. Sitter and Barfoot Veterans Care Center is a long-term care center for veterans located on the grounds of McGuire VA Medical Center.

Job Duties

  • Monitors and charts high-risk residents, attends care plan meetings, and ensures conformance to nutritional and quality standards.
  • Make recommendations to address nutrition issues and provide nutritional consultation to residents as requested by the nursing department or physicians.
  • Assist other Registered Dietitians with clinical caseload management to maintain the nutrition care of our residents.
  • Assess the nutritional needs of the residents, completing required assessments and documentation.
  • Consult with residents regarding menus, food service, food preferences and nutritional care.
  • Evaluates and updates diet to maintain quality and liberalization.
  • Provide education to the residents and family members as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and Registered Dietitian required.

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with care plans, MDS 3.0 and Point Click Care are highly desirable.
  • One-year clinical experience in the acute or long-term care setting strongly preferred.
