The Controller's Office provides the tools, resources, and expertise to support the university's complex and highly regulated financial operations. Highlights of your responsibilities as a Payroll Analyst include:
• Review and resolve payroll anomalies before payroll transmission to pay employees accurately and timely;
• Collect and analyze nonresident alien information and maintain data in a secure online international tax software (Foreign National Information Systems, FNIS);
• Interact directly with employees regarding payroll activities (e.g., tax treaty processing, deductions, tax records, non-resident documentation requirements, etc.);
• Track and report proper work authorization documentation while maintaining accurate records;
• Ensure compliance with documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic payroll and onboarding practices.
• Experience researching and analyzing data.
• Proficient in using automated systems, personal computers and software such as Excel in an accounting-oriented environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide customer service in a courteous manner and work effectively with diverse groups of people.

• Degree in business, accounting or related field or equivalent level of training and/or experience.
