Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center is looking for highly motivated, experienced healthcare professionals to join our team! The brand new Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center (JCVCC) is named after two Virginia heroes. Air Force Colonel William A. Jones III of Norfolk was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service in Vietnam. Army Staff Sergeant Christopher F. Cabacoy of Virginia Beach was killed in Afghanistan in 2010 when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. The Jones & Cabacoy VCC honors their service to the Nation and the Commonwealth. The Jones & Cabacoy VCC was built to serve our Veterans. They served us, now it is our duty to serve them. JCVCC is nestled in an ideal location in the Princess Anne section of Virginia Beach on a 25-acre site adjacent to Nimmo Parkway (extended), West Neck Rd, and N. Landing Rd. This pristine 128-bed facility is state of the art with immaculate outside landscaping and features all private rooms that will be organized into eight 16-bed households that surround a central community center and rehabilitation gym. Each 16-bed sub unit includes a dining room, kitchenette and dayroom adjoined access to a courtyard.
You will have the full support of the entire DVS team, including the Administrators of the Virginia Veterans Care Center in Roanoke, Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care in Richmond, and the brand-new Puller Veterans Care Center in Fauquier County (the “twin” of Jones & Cabacoy VCC). You will also have the full support of the Virginia Beach community. The opening of the Jones & Cabacoy VCC is eagerly anticipated and there will be no end of support for social and volunteer activities, both at the Jones & Cabacoy VCC and in the community.

The purpose of this position: Director of Food Services is to plan, develop and direct the activities/operations of the food service department. He/She is responsible for food service standards, policy and procedure, food service staff, equipment, systems and work areas, while providing high quality of food service for residents in a cost effective manner. The Director of Food Services is responsible for decisions regarding food service activities, directs and consults with the Registered Dietician, and/or other resources as necessary and/or appropriate
Minimum Qualifications
May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Must be free from contagious diseases and/or conditions which may be passed via food or food service. May be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must have communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of the position.
Additional Considerations
Must be a Certified Dietary Manager. At least 3 years clinical nutrition/or food service experience. Previous experience with MDS and Care Plans required. Previous experience working with the long-term care service management is preferred. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Computer skills and ability to learn new software programs. Knowledge of local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements is desirable.
