Job Duties

Supports the Department of Corrections, Food Services, and Offender Re-entry mission and goals by providing outstanding customer service and nutritious meals to customers. Additionally, enabling expansion of offender training, knowledge and experience to assist in reintegration into the community.
Position supervises inmates in food preparation and serving to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and security regulations. Assists with receiving food products, equipment and other supplies as needed while maintaining an accurate inventory system. Responsible for training inmates, while maintaining a high standard within a comprehensive Food Service environment.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Skilled in the operation of food service equipment. Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and cost controls. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels to include management, staff, and inmates.

Additional Considerations

Previous experience working in a food service environment. Trainer experience in restaurant operations. Serv-Safe Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Food Service experience working in a correctional, educational, hospital or similar institutional environment.
