Description

The Office of Income Taxation has an opening for an Assistant Director position. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to provide leadership and guidance to employees within the Division of Corporate Tax. As an Assistant Director for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, you will provide supervisory direction and training in the Division of Corporate Tax. Attention to detail, good communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast paced, high production environment are necessary attributes required for this position.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing oversight of the branches within the Division of Corporate Tax and assist the Division Director and other managers with special projects
Manage statistical reporting and will act as the lead in employees career development and program efficiency.
Performing research on inquiries related to Corporation and Pass-Through Entity Tax
Reviewing and approving personnel actions for the division
Performing the duties of the Division Director in his/her absence
Acting as a liaison between the division and other organizations
Complete other duties as assigned.
Additional / Supplemental information:
Must successfully complete a background investigation including an FBI criminal history record check (fingerprint check).
Must comply with all tax laws
Mostly at a desk using a computer and telephone
Some travel for training and education.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of administrative or management experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, management, or research experience will substitute for the required education on a year- for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
