Job Description:

As a Cashier at Good Foods Grocery, you play a vital role in providing excellent customer service and maintaining a well-organized store environment. You will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, handling payments, and ensuring shelves are stocked and neatly arranged.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:
   • Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries and product location.
   • Provide information about products and promotions in a friendly and helpful manner.
   • Ensure a positive and welcoming experience for all customers.
2. Cash Handling:
   • Accurately process customer transactions at the cash register.
   • Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment following established procedures.
   • Issue receipts and change accurately.
3. Shelf Stocking:
   • Receive and unload merchandise from delivery trucks.
   • Stock shelves and display areas with products, ensuring items are faced and organized.
   • Monitor product expiration dates and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
   • Collaborate with the inventory team to manage stock levels effectively.
4. Order Accuracy:
   • Scan and bag items efficiently at the checkout, ensuring accuracy.
   • Verify prices and quantities of products during the checkout process.
5. Maintaining Checkout Area:
   • Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked with bags and other supplies.
   • Assist in the maintenance of a safe and secure shopping environment.
6. Team Collaboration:
   • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a seamless operation at the front end.
   • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
• Strong numerical and cash-handling skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in transaction processing.
• Basic knowledge of natural and organic products is a plus.
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Moderate lifting or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Manual dexterity to operate a cash register and handle items.
