Position Summary: The Safety Officer is an essential member of our team, responsible for ensuring the well-being of our staff, clients, and the community. As a Safety Officer, your primary duties include developing and implementing safety procedures and regulations, as well as monitoring compliance with safety standards across all projects and activities.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
• Conducts employee training on applicable safety standards.
• Reviews safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates.
• Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
• Inspect safety equipment; recommends replacements.
• Review accidents and incidents reported by employees.
• Updates field supervisor with employee safety infractions.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to improve the company’s safety programs continuously.
• Visit crew workstations throughout the day to ensure compliance
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to identify unsafe situations or potentially unsafe situations.
• Thorough understanding of health and safety laws.
• Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to lift 25lbs and climb up and down a ladder safely.
• Able to work in extreme weather conditions.
• Committed to a minimum of 40-hour work weeks.
• Ability to work in and around restricted/ confined spaces
Education and Experience:
• Minimum OSHA 30 required
