Commercial Van Interiors, Inc. is a growing national light duty van & truck upfitter has an immediate opening in Union City, CA (East Bay area) for a Shop Supervisor. 5 years of shop management experience required. Ability to manage a 10 to 25 person shop. Must have good production, mechanical and customer service skills. Some electrical & computer skills required. Industry experience a plus. Job Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of shop production, fastener and shop supply inventories, tool requirements and repairs and maintenance. In addition, the position will be responsible for engineering new jobs and developing and writing new procedures for efficient production.Will hire and train staff and schedule shop personnel to meet customer demands as well as operate in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential functions:

· Responsible for sales assistance, customer service and scheduling when required

· Responsible for coordinating shop production paper flow to include employee timecards, various branch operational reports

· Responsible for keeping track of manufacturer’s engineering changes and implementing those that are applicable

· Responsible for implementing and monitoring employee safety methods and quality awareness:

· Responsible for special projects that will affect the shop’s methods and activities, or those that will require shop scheduling to accomplish

· Responsible for all related administrative tasked involved in the handling of responsibilities described in this review, including the timely completion and organization of related paperwork and management information

· Ensures quality of work by all personnel in the branch shop.

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or GED equivalent

· Must possess proficiency in automotive industry specific electrical troubleshooting and installation

· Possess proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Possess 5 or more years as a shop supervisor in an auto/aftermarket shop.

· Able to read, understand, and follow detailed written instructions as provided by manufacturer’s suppliers.

Environmental Factors

· Must possess good verbal skills and proficiency in written communications, Spanish a plus.

· Must be able to lift 40 lbs. consistently
