CommerceIQ is Hiring a Senior Accounting Manager, Revenue Near Sunnyvale, CA

This is a hybrid role in Sunnyvale, CA on a schedule of 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home. Only local candidates will be considered. 

The Role: 

The Senior Accounting Manager, Revenue, is responsible for building, operationalizing, and managing revenue accounting and related technical accounting strategies, programs, processes, and data systems. Reporting into the VP Controller, they will partner with the General Ledger accounting team as well as with finance and sales operations teams to manage revenue accounting strategy and operations, helping to bring accounting functions in-house and operationalize collaboration with cross-functional teams. 

Senior Accounting Manager, Revenue will work closely with auditors and accounting and finance leadership to proactively anticipate accounting needs and strategies, including compliance with measures like ASC 606 as well as internal team needs like hiring and managing. 

Success in this position requires revenue accounting ownership experience at high growth SaaS companies where attention to detail, bias for action, process and systems optimization, and project management are key to successful outcomes. 

 What You'll Do: 

  • Own CommerceIQ’s revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606, and the accuracy and completeness of billing operations; including preparing and reviewing: invoicing batches, journal entries, account reconciliations, AR and collections schedules, commissions reports, disclosure schedules for financial statements, and fluctuation analysis to help management with business decisions.
  • Oversee operational processes and accounting owned by the global accounting teams (including invoicing, collections, deferred revenue amortization, and commissions plans and reporting).
  • Manage day-to-day revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audits.
  • Manage billing processes and commissions plans ensuring strict adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist executive leadership teams with special projects, research and supplemental reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on commissions, go-to-market deal desk, and other initiatives.
  • Work on process optimization and automation efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness on a continuous basis through various techniques using technology solutions and automation.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and train your team; take an active interest in their career and development and find ways to continue their growth and development.
  • Participate in other assignments and ad hoc projects as required.

What You'll Bring: 

  • 7-9 years of relevant accounting experience, with a specialization in revenue and/or technical accounting
  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), with public accounting experience preferred.
  • Track record of challenging the status quo and leveraging technology to build scalable processes, gain efficiencies, streamline accounting operations and improve outcomes.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
  • Shown ability to work effectively in a team environment and have strong rapport with the management team and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of start-up to mid-tier ERPs, and associated Revenue Modules and workflows, a plus - NetSuite, etc.
