Description
Summary:
The Technical Manager troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment in the gaming center and/or other facilities with equipment. This position is required to test electronics and mechanical functions of games, replace broken or missing parts, and ensure the games are running smoothly. This position is responsible for performing all facility maintenance and supervising Assistant Techs to complete these tasks.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manager the electrical and mechanical aspects of the game room and attractions
  • Work on the latest video games and skill games, kiddie rides, soft play, bumper cars, laser tag, minim bowling, racing karts, kitchen equipment, and register systems.
  • Repair and/or replace defective electronic components and take responsibility for timely scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
  • Maintains facilities that are clean, safe and in good repair.
  • Maintain an inventory of electronic equipment, mechanical parts, and tools while staying within budgets.
  • Maintain a list of down games and parts needed.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance and repairs on arcade games and equipment.
  • Communicate with game distributors regarding arcade game issues as needed.
  • Maintaining and updating a list of down games and parts needed
  • Create and maintain a fun, customer-focused environment wherever guest leaves happy.
  • Make daily decisions to uphold company principles, product quality and cleanliness standards.
  • Achieve budgeted revenue targets and reduce costs by effectively troubleshooting repairs.
  • Complete all shift paperwork and/or reporting requirements.
  • Attend and participate in weekly tech calls and corporate communications as requested.
Additional Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by General Manager and Director of Technical Operations
  • Recruit, hire, coach, train and continually develop all Assistant Techs and Arcade Attendants.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which includes evenings, weekends and holidays.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot down to the component board level.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and soldering.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management and a sense of urgency.
  • Have good communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to good client/customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with a team. 
Working Conditions
The work for this position is performed mainly inside the fun center and requires routine walking, standing, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing/pulling, squatting, and lifting items weighing no more than fifty pounds. The work environment includes flashing and flickering lights, moving mechanical parts, and loud noise. Some travel may be required.
