Columbus Urban League is Hiring a Prevention Coordinator - Empower U Near Columbus, OH

Job Description:

This position is responsible for ensuring high quality service delivery, performance and accountability for the Empower U program including the coordination of activities, referral recruitment, facilitation of group and brief intervention sessions. Ensure compliance with contracts, funders and accreditation requirements while operating under best practices consistent with the mission of the Columbus Urban League. Thiis is a part time position, working up to 20 hours a week.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Program Management and Direct Service Delivery

  • Recruits and accepts referrals.
  • Plans and delivers effective program activities and services and monitors activities for efficacy.
  • Provides prevention programming to selected and indicated populations.
  • Integrate program services into other CUL initiatives.
  • Ensures client services, documentation and data collection have integrity and compliant with funding, contract and/or accreditation requirements.
  • Completes screening and interviews with participants as needed.
  • Provides individual and group sessions to support individuals, particularly individuals challenged with alcohol and/or substance use, and link individuals to appropriate services related to both within CUL and with other community partners.
  • Maintains caseload of customers as required by funding guidelines; mentor and guide customers through program services
  • Ensures programs are meeting stated outcomes and/or goals. Prepares bi-weekly, monthly and/or quarterly reports and statistical analysis of stated outcomes as required by the supervisor.
  • Prepares for and participates in regularly scheduled operations meetings as required.
  • Increases community awareness and engagement in programs.
  • Acts as a liaison to a variety of community and public agencies as requested by supervisor.
  • Responsible for maintaining engaged partnerships.
  • Ensures CUL is operating in accordance with Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services Prevention Certification Standards and ADAMH Board of Franklin County standards.
  • With approval, represents the program and/or agency at meetings within and outside the organization; participates in establishing a network of other agency contacts, and encourages collaborative community efforts.
  • Work with supervisors to proposes changes as necessary to achieve program integration, goals, and adherence to. laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures.

    Compliance

    • Understand requirements of current program-related contracts and funding reequipments.
    • Enters all participants information into data tracking systems including case notes
    • Submits weekly activity reports reflecting presentations, community events, clients served and other activities
    • Maintains most up-to-date information on clients
    • Ensures documentation and files are in an audit-ready in compliance with laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures

    Finance

    • Adheres to budget parameters relative to successful program management; executes on approved expenditures within budget guidelines. Supports funding research, proposal development and writing; and supports program fiscal audits and monitoring visits.

      Required Experience:


      Job Requirements, Education and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in Human Services, Social Work or related field required. Masters degree preferred.
      • 2 years’ experience facilitating group and individual brief prevention sessions for adults including adults associated with adult parole and probation authorities.
      • 2 years’ experience utilizing evidence-based prevention and brief intervention techniques to help participants understand behaviors and coping skills to address evaluated risk of substance use.
      • Must meet Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services requirements to implement Prevention Services (RA, LSW, OCPSA, etc.).
      • If not already credentialed, must become a Prevention Professional Registered Applicant with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board within one month of hire, and OCPSA within six months of hire.
      • Must have intermediate to advanced computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
      • Familiarity with ADAMH Board and OMHAS requirements and funding strongly preferred.
      • Strong organization, communication and presentation skills required.
      • Passion for working with CUL target population and a commitment to community engagement required.
      • Professional business attire and appearance required.
