Job Summary
This is a part-time position that assists Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center with routine maintenance of exhibits and grounds that support the educational programming of the Center.
Responsibilities
  • Gardening (20%) - Weeding, planting, watering, herbicide application, mulching, mowing, etc.
  • Trail Maintenance (20%) - Mowing, herbicide application, safety reviews, path enhancement, mulching, tree/shrub trimming, trail marker installation, etc.
  • Exhibit/Facility Care (15%) - Sign installation, painting, routine upkeep.
  • New Exhibit Construction (10%) - Construct infrastructure (wood, plexiglass, etc) for new exhibits or refurbishing current exhibits.
  • Special Events (10%) - Assist with setup and take down associated with special events.
  • Security (5%) - Reviewing access areas and ensuring security measures are adequate.
  • Additional Tasks (20%) - Other tasks as assigned at the direction of the Executive Director or his/her designee.
Required Qualifications
  • High School degree or GED.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Ability to occasionally work after 5pm and/or on Saturdays.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass CSU driving requirements/tests.
Proposed Salary
This position is hourly at $13.50 for a maximum of 19 hrs./week.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to operate small yard maintenance equipment - mowers, chain saws, drills, shovels, rakes,and associated power tools.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work well with others in a small organization.
  • Experience with tools and construction.
