Job Summary
Columbus State University is seeking a Marketing Specialist for its Office of Strategic Communication Marketing. The selected candidate will leverage their experience to advance the university's marketing strategy, enhance its reputation and protect its brand as part of an integrated communication and marketing team.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities inlcude but are not limited to:
  • Create content and copywrite for integrated marketing campaigns and related projects that involve print, publications, web, e-marketing (including nurturing recruitment and retention emails to current and prospective students), paid social, advertising, events, multimedia tactics, and other forms of recruitment, retention and community engagement.
  • Contribute to and fulfill marketing requests originating within the office and in partnership with other university units.
  • Collaborate with internal university partners to assess needs, set goals, develop and manage campaigns, deliver on creative services requests, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Support other marketing-related projects relating to academics, alumni and donor engagement, athletics, campus life, fundraising, and special events.
  • Assist the office's social media efforts by creating content, managing social media calendars, posting social content and/or engaging with followers.
This position may require occasional after-hours weekday and weekend roles supporting office projects, university events or other needs.
Required Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Public Relations, Communication, Marketing, Journalism , or a related field, and professional and/or extensive internship-level experience in one or more areas of responsibility, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work in a highly creative, collaborative detailed-oriented environment under tight deadlines, in high-pressure situations, and with colleagues internal and external to the team; and strong organizational skills that include managing multiple and simultaneous projects, maintaining attention to detail, and meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include at least two years of related professional experience in an agency and/or higher education setting; basic proficiency in photography, photography editing, graphic design and branding standards, and the software related to these functions (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud suite); and basic proficiency in social media community management, content creation and social analytics.
Proposed Salary
The salary range for this position is $37,253 - $40,784.
