Job SummaryThe Department of Psychology at Columbus State University seeks applications for a Limited Term Lecturer of Psychology. The start date for this position is August 1, 2023.

ResponsibilitiesCandidates are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring students, along with maintaining an active research and service agenda. Candidates will be expected to teach Lifespan Developmental Psychology, as well as upper-level courses in their specialty. Additional courses candidates may teach include but are not limited to, Aging, Child Development, Research Design & Methods, Statistics, or Writing in Psychology. Preference will be given to candidates who can expand the department's course offerings related to their expertise and engage students using experiential learning strategies. Candidates who have experience with a variety of teaching methods, have experience working with culturally diverse groups, and are eager to incorporate undergraduate students in their research and/or service activities are preferred.
Normal teaching load is four classes per semester in both introductory and upper-level psychology courses. Courses may be taught during daytime and evening hours, using a variety of modalities such as face-to-face, online, and hybrid.
Required QualificationsCandidates must possess an earned Ph.D. with specialization in Developmental Psychology prior to the start date of August 2023.
Preferred QualificationsAdditional expertise in applied areas, including but not limited to clinical, counseling, or community psychology is preferred but not required.

Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
