Columbus Consolidated Government is Hiring a Golf Shop Attendant - Bull Creek - Part Time 103G Near Columbus, GA

We are looking for an efficient, courteous Golf Shop Attendant who possesses excellent customer service skills.

  • This position will wait on golfers checking in to play golf, use our practice facilities, or make purchases from the pro shop.
  • The attendant will accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to our customers.

  • Knowledge on how to operate cash registers, and other electronics
  • Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to open and close the golf shop on days you are assigned to work
  • Stocking merchandise and snack/drink selections
  • Maintaining a clean workspace
  • Occasional outdoor requirements dealing with golf cart staging area and golf cart returns
  • Must be able to work alone with limited supervision.
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Knowledge of recreational golf is preferred
  • Various other requirements as assigned
Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, presently in high school, have a high school diploma or GED, or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have a valid driver's license. Must have reliable means of transportation. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include late afternoons and/or early evenings, weekends and some holidays. Must be willing to work outdoors.

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, bending, crouching, walking, or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color, and/or move up to 50lbs or more if necessary. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Balancing – maintain equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing, or crouching.
  • Crouching – bending body forward by bending leg, spine.
  • Feeling – perceiving attributes of objects by touch with skin, fingertips.
  • Grasping – applying pressure to object with fingers, palm.
  • Handling – picking, holding, or working with whole hand.
  • Hearing 1 – perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, receive information.
  • Hearing 2 – receive detailed information, make discrimination in sound.
  • Kneeling – bending legs at knee to come to rest at knees.
  • Lifting – raising objects from lower to higher position, moving objects side to side, using upper extremities, back.
  • Manual Dexterity – picking, pinching, typing, working with fingers rather than hand.
  • Mental Acuity – ability to make rational decisions through sound logic, deductive reasoning.
  • Pulling - use upper extremities to exert force, haul or tug.
  • Pushing – use upper extremities to press against objects with force, or thrust forward, downward, outward.
  • Reaching – extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Repetitive Motion – substantial movements of wrists, hands, fingers.
  • Speaking – expressing ideas with spoken word, convey detailed, important instructions accurately, concisely.
  • Standing – for sustained periods of time.
  • Stooping – bending body downward, forward at waist, with full motion of lower extremities and back.
  • Talking 1- expressing ideas by spoken word.
  • Talking 2 – shouting to be heard above ambient noise.
  • Visual Acuity 1 - prepare, analyze data, transcribing, computer terminal, extensive reading.
  • Visual Acuity 2 - color, depth perception, field of vision.
  • Visual Acuity 3 - determine accuracy, neatness, observe facilities/structures.
  • Visual Acuity 4 - operate motor vehicles/heavy equipment.
  • Visual Acuity 5 -close acuity for inspection of small defects, machines, use measurement devices, or fabricate parts.
  • Walking - on foot to accomplish tasks, long distances, or site to site.

The work is typically performed in throughout the facility. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery with moving parts, and irritating chemicals. Work may be performed outdoors where the employee may be exposed to cold or inclement weather.
