Job Details

Job Location: Columbia Machine Inc - Vancouver, WA
Salary Range: $20.00 - $35.00 Hourly

Description

Summary: Machinists are required to use milling machines, grinders, lathes and other machine tools in order to produce precision metal parts. They review written blueprints and specifications, calculate where to bore or cut into the work piece, determine speed, and plan the sequence of cutting. These professionals also detect problems by listening for specific noises or excessive vibrations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to work to production schedule and due dates

Operating a variety of machines safely and efficiently

Ability to hold tight tolerances ( /- .002)

Proficient at blueprint reading

Understand and calculate feeds and speeds

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High school diploma or GED
  2. Vocational or technical training preferred
  3. 10 college credit hours of Machining or equivalent
  4. Pass the Machinist Speeds and Feeds Test
  5. Pass the Columbia Basic CNC or Manual Test
  6. No written performance issues during the previous 6 months
  7. Minimum of 3.2 on last performance review
  8. 12 months at previous level preferred
  9. 2-4 years experience
