Salary Range: $32,600 $37,500 $42,000


Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the Resident Services team by transporting residents to predetermined locations using Columbia Housing provided transportation, assisting team members with events and program activities, and coordinating the event schedule for the Cecil Tillis Center. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all activities are administered in conformance with Columbia Housing policy.
All activities must support the Columbia Housing’s (“CH”) mission, strategic goals, and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties, and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.
  • Assist Resident and Strategic Initiatives Department with program activities to include running errands, setting up for events, assisting other team members with program activities, and providing administrative support to all team members as needed.
  • Provide transportation services for residents and CH staff as needed.
  • Greets residents in a courteous manner and provides help to residents with entering the vehicle as needed.
  • Ensures residents are seated and use safety belts before moving vehicles.
  • Performs check of vehicle to make sure all riders have all their possessions and helps residents to exit vehicle as needed.
  • Prepares records on vehicle use following Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
  • Inspects vehicle regularly according to DOT requirements and manufacturer specifications.
  • Informs Resident Services Manager of needed supplies or vehicle maintenance.
  • Coordinate event/meeting planning functions based on facility rental agreement.
  • Prepare and administer contractual agreements with renters.
  • Serve as on-site staff liaison for weddings, receptions, graduations, corporate meetings, and other events.
  • Coordinate building maintenance and custodial services.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED and completion of Commercial Driving and Defensive Driving courses preferred. The incumbent must have computer experience and be proficient with Microsoft software (i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint). An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Incumbent must have a valid SC Driver’s license. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred. The incumbent must have the ability to be insurable under the CH’s automobile insurance plan at the standard rate.

Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, the employee should have proven experience driving company vehicles and familiarity with GPS devices. Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks and effectively handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position. Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating CH vehicles. The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. The employee must occasionally transport up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
This position generally works in the CH’s vehicles and on CH properties, which may cause the employee to experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions. The noise level may be loud, and the environment may be more hazardous than a standard office environment. This position may require you to work with contractors as well as CH residents. The position requires the availability to work outside of the established CH working hours.

This position is considered “safety sensitive” and is subject to random testing.
