Description

The Career Services Advisor (CSA) works with all students requesting career search assistance within an assigned student group.

This position is responsible for coaching students and alumni in every facet of their career search including resume writing, cover letter preparation, practice interviews, networking, job search assistance, thank you letters, as well as all other related career planning needs.

Additionally, the Career Services Advisor collects and records Graduate File information on student employment and career outcomes.

CSAs provide support to the university’s philosophy of Service to Customer, both internally and externally, in a professional and timely manner that supports achievement of the University’s goals and objectives.

  • Contact each newly assigned student to identify the level of job search assistance needed.
  • Collect necessary Graduate File documentation to record student outcomes.
  • Maintain student file on career search goals, services provided, and student progress and career outcomes.
  • Work with students in detail to coach on all aspects of career searching including creating a resume, conducting practice interview sessions, assisting with career planning and presenting applicable employment opportunities.
  • Follow up with assigned students based on the CSA Contact Criteria.
  • Partner with the Employer Development team by marketing career opportunities to students and conducting employer outreach to facilitate employment.
  • Provide detail documentation on each contact / activity that was made with the student.
  • Meet monthly goals.
  • Communicate with students via phone, email and live chat ensuring a quality service experience.
  • Follow all accreditation, state and federal regulations in preparation of a Graduate file for each student.
  • Uphold all university policies, procedures, integrity, and ethical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills New employees will be trained and expected to be knowledgeable of all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements relating to Career Services.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor degree from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education required
  • 6 months experience in Customer Service, Career Coaching, Staffing or Recruitment

Preferred

  • 1 year experience in a business related position
  • Certified Professional Resume Writer Credential
