Description of Work Unit
Dental Services
Dental Services at the CSU Health Network provide affordable, convenient, quality care to students and their spouses and domestic partners. The Clinic provides a full range of dental services including preventive, diagnostic, restorative and adjunctive treatment. Digital x-rays are available, as well as oral cancer screening and tooth whitening. The Dental Clinic is staffed by licensed dentists, registered dental hygienists and certified dental assistants. Services are provided at reduced rates compared to community providers; patients may pay at time of service or utilize their university student account. The Dental Clinic provides services between the hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Thursday, providing attractive work schedules for staff.

The CSU Health Network (CSUHN) at Colorado State University provides a full range of cost-effective mental health and primary care medical services on campus, referral for community specialty care, and comprehensive health education and prevention services programming. Position Summary
The Dentist – Clinical Manager is responsible for providing leadership within Dental Services in addition to direct patient care for CSU Health Network patients.
The Dentist – Clinical Manager works 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday. This position reports directly to the Associate Executive Director.
Required Job Qualifications
Education/Licensure
  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited dental school
  • Active licensure in the State of Colorado or the ability to obtain licensure prior to date of hire
  • Active DEA license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Experience
  • Three years of experience providing direct patient care
  • Two years of experience with supervision of professional staff
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience
  • Five years of clinical experience, or three years of clinical experience plus residency (general practice or hospital based)
  • Experience in dental clinic ownership or management, including financial management, marketing, and supervision of staff
  • Experience working with a young adult / college age population

Provide direct patient care in Dental Services for CSU Health Network patients, including:
  • Provide general dental care, including cleaning of teeth, oral examinations, filling of cavities, extractions, whitening, sealants, crowns, and others as qualified
  • Assess and treat damaged, cracked, or broken teeth
  • Review and interpret x-ray images to provide appropriate dental care
  • Instruct patients on best practices for oral health
