Colorado Lighting is Hiring an Energy Rebate Management Specialist/Anaylyst (FT) Near Denver, CO

About the Job:
Energy Rebate Management Specialist/Analyst
Colorado Lighting, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our sales and design team.
The individual will be tasked with supporting the sales team with design and rebate processing.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing Rebates:
  • Staying abreast of utility rebate programs in the territories that Colorado Lighting services and becoming an expert in navigating these programs.
  • Assisting the sales force on the front end of the sales process with rebate calculations and verifying rebate estimations and keeping them updated on changes in rebate programs.
  • Updating rebates on an ongoing basis and tracking deadlines that must be met to capture rebates.
  • Receiving project information from the sales staff regarding projects that have rebates in them as well as filing custom rebates.
  • Submitting paperwork to the customer for signature, and submitting paperwork to Xcel for processing.
  • Follow up with the customer and utilities on a weekly basis to ensure they have everything they need, are kept up to date, and that rebates are processed and received as efficiently as possible.
Design:
  • Performing investment-grade lighting audits on projects.
  • Becoming an expert in lighting and control products.
  • Attending various trade shows and educational seminars in to stay abreast of new products and technologies.
  • Understanding what is required in meeting the lighting codes for various cities and counties.
  • Becoming an expert in the Boulder Outdoor Lighting Code and the Boulder Performance Ordinance.
  • Running lighting layouts.
  • Staying current on various energy efficiency grant programs.
  • Attending bid and site walks.
  • Reading through bid packages to determine deliverables, requirements, deadlines, and appropriateness of bids.
  • Assisting with the creation of bids and proposals. Including narratives, technical spreadsheets (energy, rebate, audits, and as-builts), and layouts.
  • Specifying products and procurement of project pricing.
  • Correspondence with end users, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Assist project management with clarification regarding design when questions arise during project implementation.
  • Measurement and Verification. Installing data loggers, and field spot-checking existing systems.
  • Building case studies and other technical documents to help promote the lighting sales process.
  • Working with customers to fine-tune and create designs that meet their overall goals.
Required Skills:
  • Experience in the lighting industry or a background education in the lighting industry.
  • Expert in Excel. Proficiency with building large spreadsheets with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products.
  • Experience performing lighting audits.
  • General knowledge of lighting and control types.
  • Basic understanding of lighting codes.
  • Basic understanding of lighting rebate programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail.
Desired Skills and attributes:
  • Experience performing investment-grade energy audits.
  • Understanding of the City and County of Boulder’s Outdoor Lighting Compliance and Building Performance Ordinance.
  • Experience working with utilities and demand-side management rebate programs.
  • Engineering or Building Systems degree.
  • Any lighting or industry-related certifications such as LC (Lighting Consultant), CLEP (Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional), or CEM (Certified Energy Manager).
  • Experience commissioning lighting systems.
  • Experience specifying lighting products.
  • Experience working with energy service contractors (ESCOs).
  • Understanding of IPMVP and measurement and verification procedures.
  • Knowledge of AGI or Visual lighting software programs and experience running lighting layouts.
  • Willingness to travel sometimes to assist with creating lighting designs.
