Job Title: Transportation Lead

Location: Colorado International Language Academy (CILA)

Job Type: Part-Time

Position Overview:

Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is seeking a dedicated and organized Transportation Lead to manage our school transportation system. This role is critical in ensuring that our transportation services are safe, efficient, and well-coordinated. The Transportation Lead will manage drivers, design bus routes, oversee bus maintenance schedules, and communicate transportation policies and expectations to parents and students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Drivers and Staff:
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of bus drivers and transportation personnel.
    • Schedule drivers and assign routes to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and support to transportation staff.
    • Back-up driver as needed
  • Route and Schedule Coordination:
    • Plan, develop, and optimize bus routes and schedules based on school needs and student distribution.
    • Adjust routes as necessary to accommodate new students and ensure timely and safe transportation for all riders.
  • Maintenance Oversight:
    • Coordinate regular maintenance checks and servicing of the bus fleet to ensure vehicles are safe and in good working condition.
    • Keep detailed records of maintenance schedules and repairs.
  • Communication:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and students regarding all transportation-related inquiries and concerns.
    • Communicate expectations regarding bus safety and conduct to students and parents through meetings, written communications, and digital platforms.
    • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise in a timely and effective manner.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
    • Implement and monitor safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety drills and training with students and staff.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist with other transportation-related tasks as needed.
    • Participate in school meetings and committees related to student safety and transportation services.

Work Hours and Benefits:

  • Part-time position requiring 4 hours daily.
  • 180 contracted working days per school year.
  • Salary range: $18,000 - $19,000 annually.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training in school transportation management.

Qualifications:

  • CDL Required
  • Experience in transportation logistics, route management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including students, parents, and school staff.
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and safety regulations.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and hold a valid driver’s license.
