Collins Aerospace is looking for a Cost Estimator who will be responsible for generating recurring cost estimates and providing analysis services in support of business proposals, design to cost efforts, engineering changes and should-cost estimates.

The position supports work that covers a variety of shifts in a 24-hour/seven-day schedule, as such, there may be a need to support work on occasional nights and / or weekends.

This is a Hybrid position where the work can be preformed from either Rockford, IL or Windsor Locks, CT.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with contracts, program management, engineering, supply chain, plant sites and pricing.
  • Collect and analyze data.
  • Create compliant estimate packages or analysis.
  • Assist with the creation of new estimating tools/processes.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement


Qualifications/Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cost estimation and SAP
  • Knowledge of MS Office with stronger emphasis in MS Excel-Pivot Tables, formulas, and macros
  • Familiarity with BOMs, product structures and reading engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and or ACE
  • Experience with Manufacturing Processes.
