Cole Valley Christian Schools is Hiring a High School Science Teacher - Part-Time Near Meridian, ID

Our Mission: Partnering with Christian families to shepherd and challenge students toward their individual potential to impact the world for Jesus Christ.

Cole Valley Christian is seeking God’s wisdom in finding a dynamic, spiritually gifted individual with a love for the Lord Jesus, and a desire to serve Him as part of a unified Christian school faculty and staff that revels in the opportunity to share God’s Truth in all we teach and do. We desire to strive for the excellence that God calls us to in preparing our students to impact the world for Christ. Therefore, we are seeking someone who first and foremost has a strong relationship with Christ that is evidenced in all aspects of their life. The High School Science Teacher will teach anatomy and physiology and health.

All candidates will be expected to implement our educational model. Here is an overview:

1. What do you KNOW ABOUT your student(s)?

a. A relationship with Jesus is the foundation of our model. Out of that, we desire to engage in meaningful relationships with our students. This enables us to know our students so we can better understand how they learn, making us better teachers for all our students.

2. What do you want them to KNOW AND BE ABLE TO DO?

a. Our curriculum has been developed for all core departments and electives with ELOs (essential learning outcomes) for classes.

b. We use Microsoft Teams as our online learning management tool.

3. How do you know if they KNOW IT?

a. Our classroom teachers strive to assess each student authentically, accurately, and effectively with a simple goal – to promote student learning.

b. We have developed a grading and assessment policy around the goal of student learning.

4. What will you do if they DON’T?

a. We have implemented office hours after school during which all teachers are available in their classrooms for the first 30 minutes after school to help students.

b. We have a Student Academic Services department for the purpose of supporting our students with diagnosed learning disabilities.

5. What will you do if they DO?

a. We strive to effectively differentiate and engage in every class so that every student is challenged to their fullest potential.

Qualifications:

· Evidence of a teachable heart, a humble and gentle spirit, and an ability to “correct, rebuke, and encourage” in love.

· A unifier who “makes every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace” while working with others to accomplish our mission.

· Excellent communication and relational skills with students and adults.

· A strong desire and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team.

· Leadership and vision: Always striving for improvement and helping others in that improvement process.

· A demonstrated ability in the gift of classroom teaching which includes the following areas:

o Seamless biblical worldview integration

o Relating to high school aged students while holding them accountable

o Engagement strategies that take advantage of multiple classroom settings

o Lesson and unit planning, organization, and calendar management

o Balanced and effective classroom management

o Differentiated instruction to meet different learning styles

o Integration of technology as a tool for student learning

· Technical Competency: Ability to navigate Microsoft applications and online tools.

· 9th-12th grade classroom training, coursework and/or experience.

· Bachelor’s degree in science or science education.

· State and ASCI teaching certificates, or ability to be certified.

Job Data:

· Hours: Part-time, 2 periods per day.

· Salary: 2024-2025 teacher prorated salary schedule starts at $12,540. Actual salary is dependent on experience and education.

· Benefits: Not eligible for benefits

· Paid Time Off: Not eligible for PTO.

· Tuition Discount: Not eligible for tuition discount.

· Starting Date: August 2024
