Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: 

1. Maintain handlers in the Engineering Lab including area clean-up.
2. Build prototype systems and report defects by redline corrections of prints and BOM’s.
3. Troubleshoot to component level.
4. Modify fabricated parts from redlined drawings.
5. Assemble breadboards and cables from schematics and sketches.
6. Log test results and report all findings of tests performed.
7. Assist engineers with designing experiments to duplicate customer problems and recommend solutions.
8. Assist assemblers on new prototypes and pilot builds.
9. Support Final Test and Field Service.
10. Support company and department programs (i.e.: First Aid/CPR and HazMat Response Team).
11. Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
12. Assist in other duties as required.

Qualifications: 

• Education/Training: Associate degree in Electronics or related field, or equivalent technical training.
• Experience: Up to two years experience as an electromechanical technician.
• Skills/Technical Requirements: 
• Knowledge of engineering drawings (mechanical & electrical), electronics theory, PCB soldering and rework, electronic components sourcing, and completing bills of materials. 
• Experience with oscilloscopes, meters, data-collecting equipment, hand tools, materials, pneumatic valves, and cylinders. 
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office programs.
• SolidWorks/AutoCAD knowledge is a plus.

Job Conditions/Physical Demands: 

Lab environment with constant or intermittent noise. Ability to stand or sit at a bench for extended periods; bend, crouch, sit, or kneel to work on a system.

Protective Devices Required: 

Safety glasses to be worn when drilling, sawing, filing, and working with air. Additional safety equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the work situation.
