Cognizant is Hiring a Remote Functional Consultant with POS experience – Retail Industry – Remote
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Point of Sale (POS) Functional Consultant to join our consulting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives related to POS programs across multiple clients. They will oversee the project from business/consulting standpoint, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management, ultimately ensuring the delivery of high-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives related to POS programs
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project is delivered on-time, within scope and budget
- Work directly with senior executives at retail and restaurant clients for program roadmap, advisory, solidifying vision, package selection etc.
- Manage multiple third party vendors throughout the POS implementation
- Advise customer on the program roadmap, rollout plan aligned to the business outcomes
- Effectively manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
- Identify and mitigate risks, escalating issues as needed
- Ensure project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible
- Provide status updates to project sponsors, executive leadership, and other stakeholders as appropriate
- Continuously improve project management processes and tools, leveraging best practices and industry standards
- Coach project team members on project management methodologies and techniques
- Work on pre-sales activities and build a sales pipeline for store operations
- Help grow the Store Operations and POS practice through go-to market activities, developing consulting offerings and partnerships
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration or computer science
- Minimum 15 years overall experience in Retail/Food Services industry and large amount of time spent on Store Operations / Point of Sale programs
- At least 5 years of experience managing POS programs and managed at least couple of full POS implementations
- Retail and/or Restaurants experience is a must
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex, multi-disciplinary projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with project management software, such as Microsoft Project or JIRA
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- PMP certification preferred
