State of California is Hiring a Chief Psychologist, Correctional Facility Near Napa, CA

Job Description and Duties

The Department of State Hospitals-Napa is currently advertising for a Chief Psychologist vacancy. Under general direction, the Chief Psychologist is responsible for the overall supervision of psychologists at DSH-Napa. As supervisor of psychological services, plans, directs and coordinates the various psychological activities consistent with the mission of the facility. The Chief Psychologist is responsible to maintain order and supervise the conduct of patients served; to protect and maintain the safety of persons and property; and, do other related work.

Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Multiple cut-off dates are set for application submission: December 26, 2023, January 16, 2024 and February 6, 2024. Applications received after a cut-off date will be processed for the next cut-off date listed.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.
