Open position in Coegi office locations including Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, St. Louis MO, and Minneapolis, MN; Hybrid work schedule: in office/remote.

We are looking for an experienced Account Director to oversee the digital media strategy and execution for one of our largest clients. In this role, you are expected to guide clients and internal teams on effective digital media strategies based on up-to-date research and best practices. You must be an excellent communicator and effective leader who can supervise multiple programs and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, guiding projects from inception to completion, and ensuring the highest quality of service delivery.

Account Directors must maintain a direct line of sight into all aspects of their assigned account, serving as the point of contact for the client, internal teams and agency partners. They are responsible for leading all digital efforts required to maximize brand awareness and engagement across integrated digital media channels on behalf of the client. This includes strategic planning, execution and optimization for all performance media, including influencer marketing, direct buys, programmatic, social, and search, with a focus on advancing the brands commercial, corporate, DTC, & HCP narratives, ensuring consistency of messaging to stakeholder groups including consumers, influencers and clients.

This position will be part of a dedicated account team supporting one of the fastest growing global pharmaceutical and biotechnology in the industry. The ideal candidate should have a rich digital media planning background for omnichannel campaigns, preferably for a pharmaceutical or healthcare client in an agency setting. Broadcast planning, product launches and commercial branding experience is ideal but not required; advanced measurement and analytics experience is desired.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact and trusted advisor for client, agency partners and internal teams
  • Build strong relationships with clients, understand their business goals, and provide strategic guidance
  • Translate marketing goals and brand positioning into viable media communication strategies and ideas across an omnichannel landscape
  • Ensure consistency in clients’ media plans, which align to initial strategy work, while offering innovation in tactical approach, research-driven vendor selection, and defined testing approach
  • Discover and deliver new test opportunities and ‘firsts’ to drive innovative solutions to executing omnichannel campaigns based on specific client business issues and challenges
  • Enable inter-departmental partnerships with D&T, BizOps and specialists; lead actionable media insights and outcomes from advanced analytic projects and platforms
  • Deliver defined optimization approach, ensuring all plans are quantifiably different by close of campaign compared to what was approved
  • Anticipate client needs, identify upsell opportunities, and proactively recommend solutions to maximize client satisfaction and business growth.
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance targets aligned with clients' business objectives.
  • Work closely with Group AD and SVP of Client Engagement to drive innovation and improved process across clients
  • Build and foster a team environment that yields strong individual and team performance as well as knowledge sharing

  • 8 years in a relevant, brand-facing role such as client service/account management or digital media strategy & planning
  • Experience planning or managing paid social, programmatic, influencer, direct buys and search, preferably in-platform
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing ideal but not required
  • Must display a strong understanding of the digital media ecosystem (e.g. data providers, DSP/SSP platforms, etc)
  • Must be familiar with multiple analytics and/or marketing platforms
  • Proven ability to manage teams of people in cross-functional roles across the organization
  • Strategic skill and strong business acumen
  • Proven negotiation & problem-solving skills
  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills
  • Some client travel required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communication or a related field
